Diversity in Business Practices
Since discontinuing the District certification fee, the District has processed 838 certification
applications. Since July 2019, the District has had 152 new small businesses providing products and
services; collectively, these firms have contracts valued at $112,859,705.97.

• Small Business University 2021 – 12 Weeks of Training for Small Businesses
• Certification Training conducted in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole -two sessions in each
language
• Business Plan Writing Workshop five-week series
• B2G Vendor Training – Prime and Subcontractors – 40 training sessions
• How to Mitigate Unconscious Bias in the Supply Chain two-week series
• How to Respond Effectively to Solicitations in Periscope S2G two-week series
