EDUCATE | AFFIRM | INSPIRE 105MCKINNEY-VENTO PROGRAMThe McKinney-Vento Program (MVP) supports the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness by reducing barriers to enrollment, attendance, and academic success. Coordinated systems across campuses, the District, and the community help students stay engaged in coursework. In FY26, MVP identified and assisted 3,647 students. Early identification efforts expanded through proactive outreach at the Welcome Center, Lake Park Library, and The Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach, connecting families with educational and community resources.Members of the MVP workgroup united a network of community partners across Palm Beach County to address immediate needs and improve academic outcomes by expanding access to tutoring, resources, and support. Strong partnerships with Degy Entertainment, Sole4Souls, and The GIVT led to the installation of a washer and dryer at Lake Shore MS to assist families, and to the distribution of 750 pairs of new shoes to students in need, as well as 16,000 pairs of Bombas socks to students across the region. Through dedicated outreach and a shared commitment to student success, MVP continues to promote stability, opportunity, and brighter futures for every student served.3474357283 329 3582864196 258Nighttime ResidenceNumber of StudentsShelters Shared Housing Cars, Parks, etc. Hotels and MotelsFigure 1Comparison of Students in the McKinney-Vento Program by Nighttime Residence
