In accordance with Florida Statute 1001.212, the District%u2019s threat management process has been implemented as a proactive, non-punitive system to ensure school safety by:%u2022 Identifying and assessing potential threats to the school environment.%u2022 Evaluating student behavior to determine risk levels.%u2022 Coordinating interventions and support services to minimize risks and promote positive student outcomes.%u2022 Maintaining comprehensive electronic documentation of threat assessments.The Department of Safe Schools supported District-operated and charter schools through professional learning aligned with the Florida Threat Management Model, case studies, relevant case development, and implementation support for management plans. Dedicated threat management teams assisted campuses and regions with all high-level cases and collaborated with school police, mental health personnel, and other instructional and behavioral experts as needed. Through continuous efforts, the District strengthens a collaborative, data-informed approach that prioritizes prevention, early intervention, and the overall safety and well-being of the educational community.
