22 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTCAREER DUAL-ENROLLMENTThe Department of Adult & Community Education expanded Career Dual Enrollment (CDE) opportunities for high school students. In August 2025, the District achieved a major milestone in workforce education by launching the first-ever CDE welding program at West Technical Education Center.The inaugural cohort of welding students received scholarship opportunities to continue their education at Palm Beach State College, where they can pursue an associate degree. Recruitment for FY27 began in FY26, providing pilot high schools with greater access to expanded programming. Courses are now available at West Technical Education Center, Chuck Shaw Technical Education Center, and Historic Carver Technical Education Center. Program areas include: %u2022 Electronic Systems Technology%u2022 Basic Health Care%u2022 Phlebotomy%u2022 Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R)%u2022 Electrical%u2022 Information TechnologyThis expansion offers industry-focused training and postsecondary opportunities for students. Additionally, successful completion of the HVAC/R program at Historic Carver Technical Education Center qualifies graduates for continued training scholarships through the department.Student implements welding instruction.
