                                    74 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTCHOICE TRANSPORTATIONThe Department of Transportation Services expanded and optimized travel for the District%u2019s Choice Programs through the following milestones:%u2022 Expanded Student MobilityProvided reliable transportation for more than 9,000 students attending Choice Programs across Palm Beach County.%u2022 Launched Express Bus RoutesImplemented Express School Bus Routes to support key District-wide Choice Programs, including:%u2022 Bak Middle School of the Arts%u2022 Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts%u2022 Suncoast HS%u2022 Don Estridge High Tech MS%u2022 Established Centralized HubsCreated designated stops at select county libraries and major shopping centers. This initiative significantly reduced student ride times and ensured safe, centralized pickup and drop-off locations.STUDENT ATTENDANCE AND RE-ENGAGEMENTFY26 marked the culmination of the Stronger Connections Grant, awarded under the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. The funding strengthened District efforts to improve student engagement, attendance, and overall well-being. Four dedicated case managers provided individualized support and structured attendance plans, directly helping families overcome barriers to consistent school attendance.During the reporting period, the Truancy Intervention Program served 115 students identified as habitually truant. Targeted, student-centered interventions helped many students make progress and successfully exit the program. For a small number of students requiring additional support, truancy petitions were filed to ensure access to further interventions and accountability.The grant also strengthened tier 1 and tier 2 prevention efforts across the District. Key initiatives included:%u2022 School leaders collaborated with Safe & Civil Schools to participate in the Tackling Attendance Challenges professional learning, strengthening their ability to implement attendance strategies.%u2022 High schools across 11 campuses implemented virtual tutoring to address academic barriers.%u2022 Family engagement increased through after-hours outreach at 15 schools, connecting households with resources.%u2022 Student-led attendance campaigns promoted positive habits through peer messaging.Re-engagement remained a priority through proactive outreach to students with unknown whereabouts. Support for re-enrollment and access to services continued throughout the year. As the grant concludes, the District will sustain these practices to ensure students are present, supported, and prepared to succeed.
