VIPS TO BE REPLACED
WITH RAPTOR
VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT
After many years of use, the Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) system
has become outdated and will soon be retired and replaced with the Raptor
Volunteer Management module. Raptor is already used at all schools for
visitor check-in and emergency management. Raptor’s Volunteer module
will allow potential volunteers to submit their applications from anywhere,
including via mobile device. Currently, volunteer applicants must submit
applications in person at a school campus. Also, potential volunteers can
attach/upload required documents and sign up to volunteer at multiple schools
with one application.
The Raptor vendor will handle the initial software training for school
staff; the tentative go-live date is November 2023. While the Visitor and
Emergency Management Raptor products are owned by School Police,
the Raptor Volunteer module is owned by the Volunteer Office within the
Communications Department. Additional information will be forthcoming
informing Volunteer Coordinators of the dates and times of training in October
2023.
