TECHNICAL OPERATIONS
     INTERNS












































     IT’s Service Desk, Field Support, Device Repair, and Audio Visual
     teams pride themselves on providing world class customer service,
     including hardware and software support and maintenance. This
     summer, they had the opportunity to host 13 student interns. A six-
     week internship itinerary was developed to keep them engaged
     both mentally and physically with hands-on activities. The interns
     gained CompTIA A+ certification skills in troubleshooting and
     repairing student devices. This, along with lifelong memories and
     experience gained by Field Support and A/V team ride-alongs for site visits,
     helped prepare them for future careers in the tech industry. During their
     internship, they salvaged more than $80,000 worth of replacement parts from
     eWaste devices. This will allow us to repair student devices at a reduced
     expense for parts. They were introduced to systems and device mechanisms
     (basic diagnostics), and gained valuable knowledge and experience learning
     and completing tasks such as:
     1.  Device/Chromebook repair and parts replacement including hinge
        covers, batteries, LCDs, and keyboards

     2.  Imaging or re-imaging computers

     3.  Software package installation using remote access best practices

     4.  Confirming user credentials and resetting passwords
     5.  Updating user permissions and access
