NEW WiFi OPTION
NOW AVAILABLE
In an effort to improve your security and WiFi experience, a new process
is now available to connect personal devices to the “District wifi”. This is a
one-time process to access the internet on your iPhone or Android device for
the entire school year. Log into your District portal and click on the “Wireless
Access Key” tile. Your personal key (password) will be created and
displayed. Then, on your personal device, enter your key when connecting to
“District wifi”. Your key is good for one school year.
Employees can text “employee wireless” to (833)-MYSDPBC or (833) 697-
3722 for an automated reply with details or click here for instructions.
Multi-Factor Authentication
is Coming!
K-12 school districts have been a target for account takeover attacks driving
up cybersecurity insurance premiums for coverage. A project to mitigate these
risks has been initiated to deploy Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to all
District employees and third-party contractors whenever they log into the
portal. Students are exempt from this project.
The District will utilize our existing enterprise portal software which supports a
broad range of authentication methods to accomplish the project objectives.
Implementing MFA will reduce our cybersecurity insurance costs and add
another layer of protection to the District network.
Employees will be given three enrollment options to satisfy the Multifactor
Authentication requirement upon logging into the Portal: Text/SMS, Push
Notification, or Time Bound One-Time Password (TOTP). Employees will be
guided with step-by-step instructions on how to enroll and use each of the
methods. We have already begun enrollment throughout the District and will
continue to do so throughout the rest of the calendar year with a completion
target date of January 2024.
