A Request for Training / Re-Training (form in appendix) must be completed noting the deficiency
observed before transporting students or operating a District Owned Commercial Vehicle.

Repeated issues of poor performance will result in discipline through the Safe Operator Plan and
in compliance with District Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines; Federal and State Motor Vehicle
Statutes, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Safe Driver Standards

All District employees who hold a position that requires them to transport students in a district-
owned, leased or rented school bus must be in compliance with the provisions of the Safe Driver
Standards. The employees described in this paragraph shall be referred to and considered
“covered” employees under these standards.
