SAFE DRIVER PLAN




            POINT SYSTEM

            Point system is applicable to drivers who are required to hold a valid CDL and applies while driving either
            their personal or District vehicle unless otherwise noted.

                              VIOLATION DESCRIPTIONS                                                      Points
            At fault accident resulting in a fatality                                                         19
            Careless Driving                                                                                  3
            Crossing private property to avoid a traffic control device                                       3
            Driving on the wrong side of the road                                                             3

            Driving too fast for conditions                                                                   4
            Driving while impaired (DWI), driving under the influence (DUI) (alcohol or                       19
            narcotics/drugs), or driving with unlawful blood alcohol level (DUBAL)
            Driving while license is Suspended, Expired, Revoked, or Disqualified (Points assigned            4
            when occurring in private vehicle only)
            Failing to activate lights and/or stop arm when loading or unloading students                     5
            Failing to have vehicle under control                                                             3
            Failing to observe any traffic control device or sign                                             4
            Failure to self-report any citation (District Owned/Operated or personal vehicle)                 3
            Failure to self-report invalid Driver’s License or Medical Examiners Certificate                  3
            Failure to self-report accident (District Owned/Operated Vehicle only)                            3
            Failing to stop or yield the right of way at a railroad crossing                                  19
            Driving around/through railroad crossing gate or barrier without proper authorization             19
            Failing to yield – entering through highway                                                       3
            Failure to yield the right-of-way                                                                 3
            Falsification of information (including but not limited to accident report, court documents,      8
            citation or documents related to driver’s license, etc.)
            Fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer                                          19
