                                    52 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuPromoting Youth Mental Health In support of the District%u2019s Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), in-person YMHFA training sessions continued for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges among youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a five-step action plan for assissting young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. This continued commitment to training resulted in 1,462 SFS employees earning YMHFA certification in the third year of implementation.Enhancing SafetyIn FY25, SFS expanded the CPR/AED Certification opportunities, giving employees the critical knowledge needed to respond confidently during emergencies. This training reinforces our commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and the entire school community. 18 training sessions were held throughout the county, including flexible after-hours and weekend options. As a result, 252 SFS employees successfully earned their CPR/AED certification.Essential Kitchen Skills TrainingThroughout FY25, comprehensive hands-on training was offered to equip new and existing staff with essential kitchen skills and knowledge. Our initiatives reflect a dedicated investment in staff development as well as our commitment to increasing fresh, scratch-cooked meals, improving food quality, and elevating the student meal experience across the District.Recipe 101, designed for those currently working in our kitchens, is specialized training to enhance proficiency in the kitchen, food safety, and meal quality. This program focuses on advanced recipe techniques, knife skills, safety/sanitation, as well as preparing modified diet foods. Ten (10) Recipe 101 sessions were held across the District, training 105kitchen staff.In addition to Recipe 101, SFS introduced a comprehensive New Employee Training focused on essential kitchen skills.
