                                    54 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuSchool Counseling OverviewSchool counselors in the District play an essential role in supporting students%u2019 academic achievement, wellness, and resiliency through comprehensive, developmental, and data-driven programs. Grounded in the Comprehensive School Counseling Plan (CSCP) and aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Mindsets & Behaviors Student Standards and the Florida Department of Education School Counseling Framework, K%u201312 counselors deliver classroom lessons, facilitate small groups, provide individual counseling, and engage families to meet the holistic needs of students. In FY25, these collective efforts strengthened student success across the District and underscored the vital role of school counselors at every grade level.The School Counseling Team The District%u2019s School Counseling Team provides the training, resources, and leadership that enable K%u201312 counselors to deliver high-quality, research-based services in schools. In FY25, the team facilitated targeted professional development, supported the rollout of resiliency and life skills instruction, and guided implementation of trauma-informed practices.
