                                     61Behavioral/Mental Health, Psychological & Counseling ServicesSchool psychologists are school-based mental health professionals with unique training and expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior. They provide a wide range of layered services and supports to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Examples of the types of services provided by school psychologists are shown in Figure 2.Figure 2School Psychological Services - Multi-Tiered Behavioral and Mental Health SupportSchool Psychological ServicesComprehensive and Individualized Psychological EvaluationsSchool psychologists provide comprehensive and individualized psychological evaluations for students with the most intense needs and those suspected of having a disability. The results of these evaluations are crucial in determining appropriate educational support and services for these students.The Department of Behavioral and Mental Health is committed to ensuring that all students receive initial psychological evaluations within the State-mandated 60-calendar-day from the date parental consent is obtained (Indicator 11). The Fiscal Year 2025 Indicator 11 report recently submitted to the Florida Department of Education confirms a continued high compliance rate of 99.49% for all initial student psychological evaluations.
