63Behavioral/Mental Health, Psychological & Counseling ServicesTrauma-Informed and Evidence-Based School Mental Health Crisis InterventionSchools are equipped with highly trained and skilled professionals dedicated to supporting student mental health, especially during crisis events such as a death, accident, or other traumatic incidents affecting the school community.Our school-based mental health professionals, including school psychologists, school counselors, and school behavior health professionals, are trained in the nationally recognized and evidence-based PREPaRE school crisis intervention model. These professionals collaborate within a unified, multidisciplinary crisis team to address the mental health needs of the school community in the aftermath of a traumatic event.When a school community%u2019s mental health needs exceed available school-based resources following a traumatic event, School Psychological Services provides additional support through trained and experienced Districtlevel mental health crisis responders. In FY25, over 60 schools received supplemental assistance from these District-level team members, who worked collaboratively with school-based crisis teams to support the mental health needs of students, staff, and families.%u25cf The school or district must have a policy requiring the use of an approved suicide risk assessment instrument administered by a school-based mental health services provider before requesting or initiating an involuntary examination due to concerns about a student%u2019s suicide risk.%u25cf Schools with FDOE Suicide Prevention Designationo FY23 - 1 district school received the designationo FY24 - 16 district schools received the designation o FY25 - 18 district school applications are pending%u25cf District Compliance - Suicide Awareness and Prevention Trainingo FY23 - 19,254 District employees trained o FY24 - 17,370 District employees trainedo FY25 - 11,962 District employees trained
