96 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuHealth ServicesThe Dental Sealant Project, supported by Quantum Foundation and the Marjorie S. Fisher Fund, has provided 46,623 dental screenings and placed over 112,584 dental sealants on second grade students since 1997. Starting with FY23, fifth grade students are included in these numbers. The mobile dental team from the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) Palm Beach County targeted 42 Title 1 Elementary Schools (refer to list below). Services were provided using portable equipment on location in the schools.The dental team collaborates with school nurses and community partners to refer children in the sealant program who have urgent dental care needs. During FY25, there were 93 students who had urgent dental needs. The number of students with treated decay was 1,153 and there were 823 with untreated decay. The program continues to reach out to interested Title 1 Elementary Schools. The 42 schools listed below were served in FY25. The program screened 3,304 students and placed 4,329 dental sealants, and 2,823 fluoride varnish applications. Data showed that nearly 25% of the students had untreated decay and 2.8% needed urgent dental care. The program also re-evaluated 374 third grade students, who had sealants placed in the previous school year, for retention of those sealants.Preventive Dental ServicesFlorida Department of Health (FDOH) Palm Beach County Dental Program%u2019s %u201cCoordinated Oral Health Access Referral Program%u201d (COHARP) is a case management and referral program to help school children with acute dental needs. These children were referred from either the Dental Sealant Program or from the school nurses in the District.
