SFS is proud to have added a third certified instructor supporting the District’s Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)
initiative. The instructors embarked on weekly in-person training sessions, resulting in 91.67% of SFS employees receiving
their certification by the second year of implementation.
SFS conducted two manager intern training programs. The FY24 fall class graduated eight cafeteria managers and the
spring class graduated 13 cafeteria managers. Of the 21 new cafeteria managers, 12 were internal candidates and 9 were
external candidates.
SFS staff in Youth Mental Health training
The SFS staff completed over 221,117 hours of professional learning this year. SFS also trained its 1,573 employees in
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification, ServSafe Food Protection
Manager Certification, and Recipe 101. (See Figures 1 and 2)
