Clinical Educator Training

The District launched a campaign to attract teachers with over three years of successful teaching experience to join as
clinical educators. These mentors, cooperating educators, and teacher leaders play a crucial and influential role in shaping
the future of education. Their experience and expertise are invaluable, and by stepping into this pivotal role, they will
        significantly impact the teaching profession.

In FY24, the District awarded credentials to 200 teachers, empowering them to mentor new teachers and guide pre-service
students and interns. The commitment to training clinical educators extends into the summer months, with an additional
85 teachers undergoing training to serve as mentors and hosts for college interns. This initiative strengthens the District’s
educational community and elevates the teaching profession.

        District Leadership Academy

The District Leadership Academy (DLA) offered a compelling platform for talent growth
and professional development for department administrators in FY24. The DLA committee,
composed of District-wide staff, orchestrated and hosted two events and six training sessions
for District administrators, including specialists, managers, and directors. These in-person
and virtual events were centered around District essentials and competencies, focusing on the
essential skills and behaviors identified by the District for optimal performance and results.

One of the District Leadership Academy’s most valuable features was the Minute and Mighty Mentor
sessions, which gave specialists and managers unique and invaluable opportunities to engage with chiefs
and directors. These sessions allowed senior leaders to offer mentorship and leadership advice to mentees, fostering a
culture of learning and growth. In FY24, more than 200 leaders actively participated in these sessions and other professional
learning events organized by the DLA, a testament to the value they found in these opportunities.

The DLA’s investment in and support of its leaders create ripple effects across the District. Leaders continue to educate,
affirm, and inspire other District employees and students, creating a positive impact.

This program provides aspiring leaders with complex and relevant experiences to help prepare them to lead schools. The
FY24 program hosted 37 aspiring leaders, positively impacting 30 schools and five departments.
