Equity Analysis Tool for Education

In FY23, the District embarked on our new strategic planning journey, utilizing an equity analysis tool. The Equity Analysis
Tool for Education (EQUATE) proved invaluable in pinpointing opportunities for improvement. In FY24, the strategic
plan workgroups embarked on a deeper dive by employing the tool for root cause analysis of the District’s Strategic Plan
        initiatives.

In FY23, the initiative workgroups used the tool to examine the “what.” In FY24, the focus shifted to the “why.” The workgroup
members delved into more root cause analysis to better understand the opportunities needed for each student to thrive.

The District is unwavering in its commitment to continuous improvement, and is dedicated to ensuring that every student
has the opportunity to realize their full potential by using data to inform decisions and solve problems.

        Teacher Fest

Teacher Fest, a collaborative effort between the District and the Palm Beach County
Classroom Teachers Association, is the largest onboarding event in the District.
This conference-style event welcomed new and returning educators. It offered them
a platform to engage with District leaders, participate in small-group professional
learning sessions, and network with District departments and business partners.
The FY24 Teacher Fest was particularly noteworthy, receiving a 93% positive rating
        from feedback survey respondents.
A total of 939 new educators registered for the event, including:

          • 319 teachers with less than one year of teaching experience
          • 135 teachers with one to three years of teaching experience
          • 485 teachers with three or more years of teaching experience

        Empowered Educator Conference
The Department of Professional Development hosted the Empowered New Educator Conference, an extension of Teacher
Fest and a supplemental engagement opportunity for the Educator Support Program. This conference was curated to
support new teachers who could not attend Teacher Fest. Attendees received a warm welcome and encouragement from
Superintendent Burke and attended breakout sessions hosted by six different District departments. These sessions covered
various topics, including classroom management, the Palm Beach Model of Instruction, supporting English Language
Learners, and teacher certification. With nearly 80 new teachers in attendance, the Empowered New Educator Conference
provided a valuable platform to enhance skills and connect with resources to support professional growth.
