Leadership for Excellence and Equity Program
The Leadership for Excellence and Equity Program (ExEq) is a 22-month master’s level program in partnership with Florida
Atlantic University. It allows participants to earn a master’s degree in educational leadership while completing the District’s
Aspiring Assistant Principals Program. The program focuses on job-embedded, experiential learning in high-needs schools,
with instructors who are current District principals, department directors, and regional or instructional superintendents.
The FY24 cohort of 26 candidates, set to graduate in December 2024, has already made a significant impact. Their
participation in the program has led to positive changes in 19 schools, demonstrating the Leadership for Excellence and
Equity Program’s real-world effectiveness.

Lean Six Sigma
As part of the District’s continuous improvement journey, the Division of Performance Accountability offered employees
training and certification in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) during the FY24 school year. LSS seeks to improve operational performance
by eliminating resource waste and defects. It combines Six Sigma methods and tools with the lean manufacturing and lean
enterprise philosophy.
