TESTIMONY
IN HIGH PROFILE CASE
In mid-December, Dominique
Hyppolite, Specialist in Records
Management, was subpoenaed
to testify in New York City during
the very high profile criminal
case of Ghislaine Maxwell. His
testimony related to the physical
security, authenticity and validity
of student records.
The United States District Court,
Southern District of New York,
had previously subpoenaed
records for the same case and
Records Management submitted
a certified response. Everything
related to this case was sealed
by the presiding judge because
of its highly publicized media
profile. The second summons
arrived just one week before the
requested testimony, which was
a very short window to respond
and arrange a trip to New
York. Several District staff were
involved to ensure the District
fully complied with the court.
Dominique’s testimony
highlighted the complexity
and security that goes into
safeguarding the documents and
information of our students. With
over 30 years of service in the
District, Dominique’s knowledge
of the process and procedures
was instrumental in his testimony.
This case provided a real-
world example that clearly
underscores the critical
importance of accuracy, security,
confidentiality, and proper
retention of SIS information and
student records!
