STUDENT

     Device Initiative Earns

     PROJECT OF THE YEAR AWARD

On December 4, the School District of Palm Beach County’s IT Division
received the 2021 Project of the Year award from the South Florida Chapter
of the Project Management Institute, for its Student 1:1 Device Initiative.

This critically important project provided nearly 100,000 devices to students
to allow for hybrid and distance learning. The project was carried out in an
extremely compressed timeline during tremendously difficult circumstances
brought on by the pandemic. Full details on the 1:1
Device project were included in the March 2020 edition
     of TIME.

Angie Bergt (IT PMO - Sr. Project Manager) and Esdras
Adames (IT Technical Operations - Project Technical
Lead) accepted the award on behalf of everyone
who worked so hard to make this project a success.
Other notable contributions were provided by the
IT Field Support staff, Google App Services, IT
     Service Desk, Educational Technology, Performance
     Accountability, and Purchasing departments, in
addition to many others. This was truly an example
of “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work”!

A select panel of Chapter Advisory Board
members of the Project Management Institute and
     external company executives were responsible
     for selecting the winning projects.

“Sincere thanks to the South Florida Chapter of
the Project Management Institute for allowing
us the chance to showcase our efforts, and for
recognizing the good work we do day in and
day out to provide our students, staff, and
     community with technology support
     for education.”
                               - Deepak Agarwal,
                SDPBC Chief Information Officer
