The Association of Educational Secretaries and Office Professionals (AESOP)
The District and AESOP agreed on a successor contract after only three bargaining sessions. As a
result, employees received retroactive salary increases of 3.5% and a $1,500 bonus. In addition, many
employees will receive another round of increases on July 1 when the District increases the minimum
wage to $15. To address shortages of Community Language Facilitators, the District raised the pay
level of this critical position to retain our employees and recruit new talent for the job.

The Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association (PBA)
Negotiations between the District and PBA led to the District increasing base salaries by 5% and
hourly rate hikes for non-contract and extra duty work to $40 per hour. To assist in recruiting new
officers, the District now offers a starting hourly rate of $29.98, the second-highest across law
enforcement agencies in Palm Beach County. Additionally, eligibility requirements for the Sergeant’s
Special Duty Assignment were adjusted to increase the number of current officers who can step
into this leadership role. The District and PBA are working together to finalize details of the District’s
proposal to offer 12-month officer positions, which will significantly enhance efforts to recruit and
        retain officers.
