School Psychological Services
School psychologists are school-based mental health professionals who provide a variety of layered services and supports
that promote student behavioral and mental health. These services include the provision of individual psychological
evaluations for students with the most intense level of need and who are suspected of having a disability.
The Department of Behavioral & Mental Health has focused on ensuring students are evaluated within the State-mandated
timeline of 60 calendar days. This metric is annually reported to the Florida Department of Education and is based on
compliance data from the previous school year. Compliance has consistently increased over the past four years, with the
most recent data from FY22* yielding the highest historical compliance rate of 99.24% (see Figure 8).
