Youth Mental Health First Aid
State legislation (HB1421, School Safety) requires that by June 30, at least 80% of District employees receive mental health
awareness training. The Florida Department of Education chose Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) as the mandated
training program. The District achieved the 80% goal at the end of April 2023. As of May 31, the District exceeded the
mandate with 90.4% of our employees receiving Youth Mental Health First Aid certifications.
