District Leadership Academy
The District Leadership Academy (DLA) provides opportunities for talent growth and
professional development for administrators. During FY23, the DLA committee, comprised
of District-wide members, coordinated and hosted five events for District administrators,
including specialists, managers, and directors. The department planned in-person and
virtual DLA events with input from administrators and focused on District Essentials and
Competencies. District Essentials are the necessary skills and behaviors identified by the
District for optimal performance and achieving results. Each year the District chooses six of
the 30 competencies for DLA focus areas.
DLA provides opportunities for specialists and managers to interact with directors and
chiefs through Minute Mentor sessions in which senior leaders provide leadership advice
for mentees. Over 400 leaders participated in these and other DLA professional development opportunities. On a feedback
survey, 95% of participants rated their experience as positive. DLA invests in and supports our leaders, who, in turn, educate,
affirm, and inspire our students.
