Custodian Hiring Initiative
It is essential to recognize custodians’ invaluable role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of school environments. By
working closely with our schools, Maintenance & Plant Operations (MPO) reduces the challenges associated with hiring
custodial staff and ensures the efficient functioning of the District’s educational facilities.
MPO participated in several job fairs and pre-screened over 100 custodial candidates. The collaboration between District
schools and MPO has successfully addressed many challenges in hiring custodians.

District Accreditation
The District completed a four-month audit-style engagement review for accreditation renewal in May 2023. The review
process was conducted by a two-person team assessing the District’s performance based on evidence-based criteria related
to 30 standards and four key themes. These themes include Culture of Learning, Leadership in Learning, Engagement in
Learning, and Growth in Learning.
The District received a favorable Index of Education Quality score of 350, indicating it met expectations for accreditation
renewal for six years. The annual report from the review provided feedback to the District to reflect on improvement efforts
and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement. The report also highlighted several noteworthy practices
that reflect significant strengths in the District.
One of the noteworthy practices identified by the accreditation team included the District’s Strategic Plan, which focuses
on continuous improvement within a learner-centered, equity-embedded culture of learning. The Distrct was recognized
for aligning District initiatives with the strategic plan. The District was also recognized for a robust professional learning
program, specifically the alignment of professional learning opportunities to the strategic plan.
