EDUCATE | AFFIRM | INSPIRE 137HealthCorps%u2019 Teens Make Health Happen ClubsThe District renewed its partnership with HealthCorps in FY26 and launched Teens Make Health Happen Clubs at 10 high schools. Trained mentors led weekly sessions on physical, mental, and emotional health. Participants applied these concepts by leading student-driven Health Promoting Events (HPE) on their campuses. %u2022 HPE initiatives included anti-bullying awareness campaigns and healthy-relationship education.%u2022 Students partnered with Letters of Love to create cards for children facing serious illnesses.%u2022 Participants joined the 2026 Let%u2019s Move Commit to Physical Activity Challenge.PROVIDING FOOD FOR THOUGHTCommunity Eligibility ProvisionThroughout FY26, the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) provided breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students at all District-operated schools. This initiative eliminated the need for meal applications and reduced barriers to accessing nutritious food. The District projected serving 20.8 million lunches and 8.8 million breakfasts for the period. Despite shifting enrollment trends, lunch participation increased by 4.8% over the previous year, underscoring the value of the CEP for student health and academic readiness.Menu PromotionsThe Department of School Food Service (SFS) launched specific one-day menu promotions during FY26 to engage students and celebrate significant events. These events increased schoolwide excitement and participation in meal programs.
