EDUCATE | AFFIRM | INSPIRE 77FAMILY AND CAREGIVER ENGAGEMENT SERIES WORKSHOPThe Family and Caregiver Engagement Series (FACES) completed its second year of implementation. Building on established partnerships, the program provided families with access to virtual workshops featuring practical strategies, expert guidance, and community-based resources. These sessions supported students%u2019 academic achievement, safety, and overall well-being. The District collaborated with community agencies and subject-matter experts to deliver three workshops to support families. Each presentation addressed critical areas of student development and protection. Workshop topics included:%u2022 %u201cStrengthening Your Child%u2019s Mental Health and Well-being%u201d: Participants explored strategies to support emotional health and recognize signs of distress.%u2022 %u201cHuman Trafficking Awareness and Prevention%u201d: Attendees received vital information on identifying risks and protecting students from exploitation.%u2022 %u201cHidden in Plain Sight - Substance Abuse and Prevention%u201d: Caregivers learned about current trends in substance abuse and gained tools for early intervention.The FACES initiative continues to strengthen the connection between home and school. By equipping families with the knowledge to navigate youth challenges, the District maintains a sustained commitment to safety and mental health. Ongoing efforts ensure that a parent or guardian remains an informed partner in promoting long-term student success.MENTORSHIP AND ROLE MODEL PROGRAMSFor 15 years, the District%u2019s partnership with Take Stock in Children and the Johnson Scholarship Foundation has helped students overcome the cycle of poverty. This initiative empowers future leaders, removes financial barriers, and builds lasting educational legacies throughout Palm Beach County.The efficacy of this model is demonstrated by FY26 data, reflecting a culture of high expectations and measurable success:%u2022 Vibrant Scholar CommunitiesOperating across 13 high schools, these student-led hubs organized professional career panels and service projects to foster leadership.%u2022 Elite MentorshipEvery scholar received personalized coaching from AmeriCorps College Coaches, and 90% of students exceeded state mentor engagement requirements.%u2022 Direct Financial AidThe program cleared the path to higher education by covering $11,500 in entrance exam and application fees.%u2022 Scholarship SuccessTargeted interventions led 120 graduating seniors to earn more than $1 million in Florida Prepaid Scholarships.%u2022 Total ReadinessThe graduating class achieved a 100% postsecondary placement rate, with 95% completing the FAFSA.To ensure access, the College and Career Readiness Curriculum offered full translation services into Haitian Creole and Spanish, empowering parents as active partners. The Future Makers Series also provided virtual mentorship in mental health and life skills, helping students build resilience and prepare for tomorrow%u2019s challenges. By turning potential into performance, this partnership remains a cornerstone of the District%u2019s mission to help underserved youth reach their full potential.
