within existing enterprise applications, thereby reducing the cost of maintaining
                       multiple systems.
 Performing appropriate data management to maintain efficiencies in table sizes and
to optimize speed of processing is a system support standard.
 Continue to provide technical Disaster Recovery solutions and to work with the
business customer (internal department) to test for Business Continuity.

               Enterprise Portal
Students, teachers, school administrators, and other employees require access to data and
software applications to effectively perform their role or job functions. The District enterprise
portal allows users to see all applications they have access to in one location. The intent of
the enterprise portal is to bring everything of interest to an individual in one place. The portal
provides a single, integrated, ubiquitous, point of access to information and software
applications, delivered in a personalized and customized manner. The benefit to students,
teachers and other end users is simplicity and speed of information access, saving time and
increasing productivity. The enterprise portal also allows for the centralization of
information, making access easier to maintain and to keep up-to-date.

During the life of this plan, the enterprise portal will become a critical component of each
student’s personalized learning. To that end, enterprise portal software available in the
market will be analyzed and implemented, if our current solution can be replaced by a cost
effective solution that provides enhanced functionality to students and employees.

               Student Information System (SIS)

TERMS, the District’s current SIS, is a mission critical system that manages the District’s
school-related data including students, teachers, classrooms, and courses. The primary
function of TERMS is to aggregate the data and generate FTE survey reports as mandated by
the FLDOE. The District’s annual funding from the DOE is based on this data. Additionally,
TERMS supports ancillary processes, including a school field trips application, Out of Field
Teachers / In-Service, data feeds to instructional applications, and the EDW. It is also the
               repository for historical student data.

In August 2017, a new SIS will go live District-wide. It will include all functions available in
TERMS as well as functions currently handled by ancillary software applications. Those
additional functions include student attendance, discipline, gradebook, a
student/parent/teacher portal, and ESE. The Go live date will be the culmination of a multi-
year, organization-wide comprehensive project. After Go live, the SIS will be supported by
both an in-house technical team and a functional team. During the life of this plan, the new
SIS will be continually analyzed to determine when and where it can be leveraged to further
personalize learning for all students. To that end, future phases of the SIS to be planned and
