During the life of this plan, additional custom applications will be developed and delivered
as requested and required to meet the academic and operational needs of students,
teachers, schools, and departments. Those applications will be designed with a “mobile-
first” mind-set, meaning each application will first and foremost work for mobile users and
on mobile devices.
Content Management and Collaboration
The four primary content management and collaboration platforms within the District are the
Google Apps for Education (GAFE) suite, SharePoint, WordPress, and ImageQuest.
The free GAFE suite of products used throughout the District include Mail, Calendar,
Classroom, Drive, Vault, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Hangouts, Forms, and Keep. They
provide unlimited storage as well as the ability to collaboratively and simultaneously work on
documents with other people. GAFE also provides access control and security for
documents, and accessibility to the public when necessary. Google Classroom allows
teachers to create a site for their class, invite their students to join the site, post content
including assignments to the site, receive completed assignments from students, and grade
those assignments.
