        No Kid Hungry (NKH)
NKH was launched in 2010 and is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength. The mission of this campaign
is to end child hunger in the United States. No Kid Hungry works to eliminate the gap between nutrition
programs and the access that kids have to participate in them.
In February 2020, NKH approached 14 schools and discussed various alternative breakfast delivery options.
Six (6) schools were scheduled to implement their strategy by March 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic in
March 2020, none of the programs were implemented.

The decision was then made to work with schools to assist and encourage them in implementing or continuing
eating breakfast in the classroom for FY21.

        Hammock Pointe Elementary

COVID-19 feeding solution provided students the opportunity to pick up breakfast from to two carts and
eat in the classroom. Students had only cold options. We worked with the SFS Manager to start offering
warm and hot breakfast options through the use of Insulated Food Delivery bags. The school is motivated
to continue doing grab-and-go for FY22 knowing that they can offer even warm/hot items. The SFS staff
continues working with the administration of the school to get approval to allow eating in the classroom.

        Lake Worth Middle

Offered grab-and-go from the cafeteria and ate breakfast in the classrooms. In an effort to capture those
students who refused to join the line for breakfast in the cafeteria, the plan was to have a breakfast cart
located at the exit of the cafeteria with grab-and-go packaged breakfast for those students; as they made their
way through the cafeteria to their designated grade area (where they waited until it’s time for their first class).

Did not have much alteration to their breakfast delivery option. For breakfast, students had the option to
grab-and-go from two cafeteria windows or eat in the cafeteria. High school starts early and many students
do not get to school in time to have breakfast or they sometimes feel it is too early to eat. We worked with

the school’s administration to create an implement plan for a grab-and-go breakfast between the 1 and the
2 period. This breakfast option is only for students who did not have the opportunity to eat breakfast earlier
         nd
        that morning.
