Be Your Best YOU! - Student Wellness App
Building upon the debut of the Be Your Best YOU! Student
Wellness that the School Food Service (SFS) Department
developed in 2020, we collaborated with Information
Technology (IT) and Environmental and Conservation
Services (ESC) to inspire students to be active participants
in their health and well-being.
While specifically targeting middle and high school
students, this app provides wellness tips in the areas of
Nutrition, Fitness, Mindfulness, and School Culture, which
is available to all students. In addition to the educational
component, each tip is accompanied with an action step to
encourage changes in student behavior. To further engage
students to determine what they find most interesting and
most meaningful, each student has the opportunity to give
feedback on the tip.
Recognizing that COVID-19 meant that many students were
learning from home and spending even more time on the
computers, we increased the number of tips from once a
week to three times each week in the same four categories
to increase student engagement regarding their health.
