Participants could choose to attend a full day of learning sessions on personal and financial wellness, professional standards, and other topics, the District%u2019s Student Mental Health and Wellness Conference, or Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training.Sixty SFS staff attended the full day Yellow Belt class and 56 went on to complete their Yellow Belt certification, bringing our total to 79 Yellow Belt Certified SFS staff. The full day training equipped staff to identify and reduce waste and improve efficiency in their work. The Yellow Belt class lays the foundation for using the Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology to achieve operational excellence and is the first step in the belt hierarchy of Lean Six Sigma training. Additionally, two SFS Central Office staff received their Green Belt certification by completing 40 hours of online learning and a 12-month project that leveraged Lean Six Sigma tools to improve SFS Summer Payroll processes. Throughout FY24, we offered ongoing training for our 1,573 employees, including CPR/AED certification, ServSafe certification, and Recipe 101, to name a few (Figure 1). Our staff completed over 221,117 hours of professional development during the year (Figure 2).
