IT Security & Governance
Threat actors are persistently attempting to infiltrate, access, and
compromise sensitive data within public organizations. In response
to this ongoing challenge, the IT Security team remains dedicated to
implementing robust processes, procedures, and platforms to fortify our
systems, applications, and infrastructure. By building upon past efforts,
we aim to enhance our defenses and ensure the safety and security of our
organization’s digital assets.
The Districtwide implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
has been a main priority for 2024, with substantial completion achieved by
the end of 2024. Another important project underway is the Cloud Disaster
Recovery project, which is currently replicating all critical District data and
systems. Fail-over testing will start in 2025.
Work completed in 2024 or in progress for 2025 from the IT Security group
includes:
• Redesigned/Streamlined Technology Clearinghouse Process

IT Infrastructure
IT Infrastructure is the backbone of our technology, providing safe, secure,
and robust server, storage, and network capabilities that support all of our
devices and applications. Infrastructure improvements in 2024 included
completing the School Server Refresh, expanding WiFi capabilities and
access, as well as maintaining primary responsibility for the data centers.
Notable infrastructure improvements in progress or completed in the past
year include:
