School Food Service
No Kid Hungry Spotlight School Initiative
No Kid Hungry has an ongoing partnership with School Food Service in helping to promote school
meal programs and increase meal participation throughout the District. During the past school year,
No Kid Hungry has awarded School Food Service $30,000 for supplies and equipment to help
support their passion for keeping kids first!
No Kid Hungry is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit organization working
to solve childhood hunger and poverty in the United States and worldwide. As part of that endeavor,
No Kid Hungry partnered with School Food Service to participate in Spotlight Schools – Palm Beach
County. The project is designed to tell stories through the No Kid Hungry campaign and the thriving
school programs. The District is just one of three in the country to be part of the initiative this year.
During this past year, No Kid Hungry spotlighted Northmore Elementary School. Their film crew
and publicity team spent three days in April interviewing School Food Service staff, teachers,
administrators, parents, and students. They captured exciting footage of children receiving and
eating breakfast and lunch.
Fuel Up with Dairy Fridays Promotion
In partnership with the Florida
Dairy Council, School Food Service
recently participated in Fuel Up with
Dairy Fridays. The event featured
special dairy breakfast items each
Friday from March 4 - April 8, 2022.
All schools offered these featured
items as part of their breakfast
promotion and menu offerings. The
Dairy Council provided schools with
fun prizes to reward students who
chose one of the featured dairy
items for breakfast. In addition, the
Florida Dairy Council also provided
86 Domino’s $25 gift cards at the end
of the five-week promotion to grand
prize-winning students.

This promotion included special prizes for Cafeteria Managers as well. The Dairy Council generously
awarded 15 immersion blenders used to make smoothies as part of the menu offerings in schools.
These immersion blenders will be presented to the 15 schools that went above and beyond to make
the promotion successful. The Dairy Council also awarded Starbucks gift cards to all the School
Food Service staff in the 15 schools chosen.
