The District also coordinates and facilitates a quarterly Pre-Service Consortium meeting that gathers
various stakeholders to discuss updates, best practices, and new trends in post-secondary education.
Each session engages our Consortium members in relevant discussions and learning opportunities
that impact public education and the District’s initiatives. FY22 Pre-Service Consortium meetings
        took place on September 28, 2021, November 2, 2021, January 25, 2022, and March 29, 2022. The
Consortium meetings are recorded and available for colleges who could not attend, allowing them
to view them at their convenience.

        School Food Service Hiring Initiative

Two years before COVID-19, School Food Service implemented a centralized process for recruiting.
When School Food Service faced its most significant staffing shortage, this process proved quite
successful as we were able to hire 624 food service assistants.

The department collaborated with various organizations to:
           • Implement a hiring hotline and email address (SFSHR@palmbeachschools.org) for interested
candidates to contact our department directly.
           • Invite seniors from District culinary academies to apply.
