Preparing Future Principals Program

The Preparing Future Principals Program (PFPP) is a comprehensive one-year leadership preparation program for
extraordinarily motivated and highly effective assistant principals and District leaders aspiring to become principals. It is
based on the Florida Principal Leadership Standards and aligns with the District’s Strategic Plan.

In PFPP, future principals engage in rigorous and relevant instructional leadership experiences. This includes opportunities
to visit and learn from school principals and District leaders in all regions and develop a personalized plan for leadership
implementation at a school site with the support of a mentor and coach.

Since the program’s inception in FY20, the program added 113 PFPP participants to the principal pool. In FY23, the program
added 23 participants, with 14 cohort members currently serving as school principals for the District.
