162 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTSCHOOL INTERCOM, PAGING, AND BELLSThe Audio Enhancement EPIC%u00ae System is a network-based intercom and bell system that integrates directly with Centegix and classroom sound-field enhancements. Since 2020, it has been the standard for all newly constructed schools in the District.After the EPIC%u00ae System was approved as the District standard, the Department of Educational Technology accelerated its migration plan. As a result, the number of District-operated schools, adult education campuses, and ancillary sites using the system increased from 45 to 62 in FY26. This growth strengthened campus communication, safety, and operational efficiency across multiple locations.ENHANCING SCHOOLS TO SUPPORT STUDENT SUCCESSThe Department of Maintenance & Plant Operations (MPO) completed several facility projects throughout FY26 to support school site integrity and student success. To extend building lifespans and reduce long-term costs, MPO prioritized proactive surface treatments and structural repairs. These efforts ensured that educational spaces remained functional and well-maintained for all occupants.
