                                    68 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuBehavioral/Mental Health, Psychological & Counseling ServicesMedical Sciences AcademiesBehavioral Health Technician (BHT) ProgramThe Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Program was launched in FY23 with three participating schools: Inlet Grove Community High, Lake Worth Community High, and West Boca Community High. In FY24, the program expanded to include South Tech Academy and Seminole Ridge Community High; however, South Tech Academy did not offer the BHT program in FY25. Despite this change, the progress achieved in FY25 across the four participating schools has been remarkable.In FY25, the BHT Program at Inlet Grove Community High continued to strengthen its emphasis on mental health awareness and workforce readiness. A key highlight was a mental health training session led by Mrs. Alita Faber, BeWellPBC Coordinator, who provided students and staff with valuable instruction on mental health concerns, trauma-informed practices, and the critical role of behavioral health professionals. This training deepened students%u2019 understanding of real-world mental health challenges while reinforcing the program%u2019s commitment to equipping learners with the knowledge, skills, and empathy necessary for postsecondary education and careers in behavioral health.Inlet Grove Community HighBehavioral Health Technician (BHT) ProgramFiscal Year Total Students in ProgramFY23 61FY24 125FY25 103In FY25, the BHT Program at Lake Worth Community High continued to expand opportunities for students pursuing mental and behavioral health careers. Led by teacher Ms. Victoria Tooch, the program built on significant momentum from the previous year %u2014 its first year offering students the P-BHT certification exam. Of the 19 students who tested, 15 successfully earned the provisional BHT credential, demonstrating strong academic preparation and dedication to the field.The P-BHT exam mirrors the C-BHT certification, with the provisional designation reflecting the clinical hours students must complete before upgrading to the full credential. Throughout the year, students deepened their understanding of behavioral health concepts and professional skill sets through a series of guest lectures. Speakers provided insights into real-world practice, including a session led by staff from HCA Florida JFK North Hospital, who discussed the inpatient behavioral health admission process and the critical responsibilities of Behavioral Health Technicians.Lake Worth Community High
