Modified Classrooms
Social Distancing: (continued)
• Classroom Structure: Every classroom is reconfigured to provide distance between students, which is conducive to limiting the spread of the
virus.
◦ Administrators will approve classroom designs prior to opening of campuses, and throughout the school year, as adjustments are
required.
◦ Teachers will minimize the use of shared items in the classroom, including learning tools, pencils, and other items shared in a group
setting. The site-based administrator will determine procedures that minimize the spread of the virus including minimal transitions and
consistent grouping whenever possible. This includes all classroom settings,
teacher directed PE, specials, and special education service locations when
possible and appropriate.
◦ Teachers will increase the use of digital instruction, when possible, to limit the
spread of germs in classrooms.
◦ Each school will be provided with additional sanitation stations to encourage
proper cleaning practices. Students will be encouraged to wash their hands for at
least 20 seconds throughout the day. Soap and paper towels will be provided at
every sink and hand sanitizer will be available.
◦ Students will be seated six feet apart, when possible, and extraneous furniture will
be removed in order to ensure proper social distancing practices.
◦ Signage will be utilized to ensure procedures are followed. School-based staff will teach and implement the procedures.
◦ Additional information regarding school campus protocols can be found at: School Campus COVID-19 Protocols.
