        Wellness Champions
Employee Wellness has had another successful year, and it would not be possible without the commitment
and effort of the amazing Wellness Champions throughout the District. We are so grateful for their continued
dedication to helping us encourage, implement, and improve healthy behaviors for a better workplace cul-
        ture.
In addition to the work they already do as champions, FY21 presented new obstacles and challenges with the
COVID-19 pandemic. Wellness Champions had to figure out how to communicate programs and resources
to employees in a virtual world. Some spoke at virtual staff meetings; others created Google Classrooms to
house the information; and others relied on principals and secretaries to send out the information via email.
Some champions reported an easier and more organized year of communication, while others struggled not
being able to speak in person to employees. Nonetheless, they worked hard to ensure that the employ-
ees had everything they needed, and we are forever grateful to the Wellness Champions for their hard work
        during the pandemic.

Wellness Champions are awarded stipends (up to $500 per school year per location) for their work in en-
gagement and promotion. This year, each champion was also allotted up to 20 e-gift cards to give to their
staff for their participation in the programs.

For FY21, we had more challenges than ever before to try to engage staff during the pandemic. The following
programs were very successful this school year.
            • Jump Rope Challenge (Cinco de Saltando)
            • Colorweeks Nutrition Education program
            • Maintain Don’t Gain Holiday Weight Challenge
            • January Journaling
            • Heart Health Challenge
            • March Back to a Healthier You Challenge
            • Let’s Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge
            • Spring from Stress Challenge
            • May Money Month Challenge
