The Annual Student Mental Health and Wellness Conference pivoted to an online format due to the restrictions
imposed related to COVID-19. The seven (7) session webinar series provided educators across the District with
timely and relevant information related to students and staff mental health during a pandemic. The hour-long
sessions addressed topics like Unpacking Students Experiences with the Coronavirus, Reconnections and
Relationships, Mental Health 101: School Teams = Student Success, Signs, Symptoms, and Support, Mental
Health 101: Connecting Kids with Mental Health Referrals and Extreme Self-Care. The pivot to a live webinar
format was very successful with the 638 attendees giving the conference a 97% positive rating.
The Behavior and Mental Health Department leveraged virtual (live and recorded) training to increase staff
awareness of mental health, resources to support mental health and strategies for responding to mental
health challenges. Through 122 training events, the Department provided professional development to
8,320 individuals.
