Support Current Schools Participating in the USDA Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Program; consider growth opportunity - 5 of 5 years
​Realizing the impact that the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Grant has had on the children that attend schools participating in the program, the School Food Service department wanted to grow the program by adding additional schools.

- default_titleIn the 2013-2014 school year we met with all the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) schools on August 8, 2013 to provide guidance and instructions for the new year. We assisted Barton Elementary and South Grade Elementary with the implementation of the FFVP.
- default_titleDuring the District's Wellness Promotion Task Force - "Wellness Celebration" on December 5, 2013 we recognized the managers and administration of the new schools.
- default_titleOn January 30, 2014 administrators met to determine additional schools that would be submitted for the application process in April 2014. A total of 13 schools were submitted to include 5 new schools.
- default_titleIn order to communicate the program benefits we met with principals at the new schools.
- default_titleIn the 2013-2014 school year approximately 771,000 healthy free snacks were provided to the children of the participating schools.
