This team of Teacher Trailblazers was provided in-depth training in a blended format this
summer that will continue throughout the upcoming school year. Each participant received
the latest technology tools, such as a class set of convertible, touch-enabled
Chromebooks and will, in the near future, receive a mobile interactive mobile flat panel
display. These leaders, as they grow in their capacity, will be able to model and share their
expertise, enabling the instructional shift facilitated by these tools to move to all classrooms.
A key to the success of this program is participants demonstrating their expertise by
becoming Google Certified Educators. Although the Google Certified Educator program has
been available nationwide for several years, the success of the Teaching with Technology
Trailblazer program has created a surge in Palm Beach County. In early 2017, there were
just a handful of Google Certified Educators; now Palm Beach has become a leading school
district, with over 400 certified teachers.
