With the recent changes to the benefits structure in the District, SFS began looking for creative ways to assist employees with the opportunity to work additional hours. School Food Service staff who work 4 hour positions have the opportunity to accept an additional 4 hour position within the District such as a custodian or second jobs in the private work force. Since employees must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to receive health benefits, this type of arrangement allows employees to apply for health benefits within the District.
